wants to turn his child stardom into adult success.
But the actor, who starred alongside
Tom Cruise

Renée Zellweger
in the 1996 drama
Jerry Maguire
, acknowledged that making the transition hasn’t been exactly an effortless task.
“It’s totally fine to say I’m not where I want to be career-wise,” he said in an interview with
People
published May 7. “Everything we’re doing in this life is nearly impossible.”
Even after his admission, the 34-year-old mentioned that he has been selective with the parts he accepts, adding that he declined around five movie offers over the past year.
“I just really want to turn this ship around,” he continued. “I pray every night for clarity on where I need to go and I’m confident the best is yet to come for me. And I think you just have to believe that. If you’re going to pursue this, you’re doing yourself a disservice not to dream big.”

Actually, Jonathan referred to his initial projects as inspiration for his subsequent phase, stating, “Some truly positive events occurred during my youth which propelled me forward.”
After continued success in movies like
Stuart Little

Like Mike
, Jonathan said he opted to focus on “normal stuff” during his teen years, though he never formally put his career on hold.
I tried out for many roles but simply didn’t secure them.
he told E! News
In January, he said, “Is it alright to mention this? Acting has always been my passion, but occasionally, it seems like it doesn’t reciprocate the feeling. There was a period when I wasn’t working for some time, yet I continued chasing after opportunities.”
Instead of abandoning his aspirations, Jonathan mentioned that he decided to enroll in acting lessons to enhance his skills.
I am completely open to continually working on myself,” he said, “and taking responsibility and control over the aspects of my life that I can actually influence.
