I saw it last night, and I really enjoyed it. Unlike the comic book version with reformed villains, this film featured characters who served as overly ambitious elements in some of the MCU’s least popular past initiatives. They playfully project their own uncertainties onto us, the viewers, giving the movie a well-utilized meta vibe right from the start credits. Even those with superpowers can experience insecurity and doubt about themselves. While the concept might seem somewhat cliché, the way it was executed made for quite entertaining viewing. Think about how much progress has been made when we finally see Sentry appear in a film! This makes me feel excited all over again about the direction of the MCU.
