Ryan Phillippe Revels in Joy as His Son Plays His On-Screen Brother

Ryan Phillippe expressed his happiness about his son being chosen to portray his on-screen sibling.

The lead actor from “Cruel Intentions,” who is 50 years old, has a 21-year-old son named Deacon Reese Phillippe with his former spouse Reese Witherspoon, aged 49.

This month, Ryan will star in the Amazon Prime Video drama Motorheads as the lead character, Logan Maddox – a struggling mechanic who lives in the shadow of his successful brother, Christian.

In an interview with the New York Post, the lead actor from “I Know What You Did Last Summer” disclosed that his son would be appearing in the series as well. He mentioned, “The concept was suggested by the showrunner, John A. Norris.”

He approached me and mentioned, “We’re considering casting your son as Christian in the flashback scenes.” I responded with, “Wow.” But inside, I thought, “Please let him get this part!”

Ryan attempted to remain calm about the prospect of Deacon appearing alongside him on camera, and he was delighted when things went smoothly.

He explained, “I wanted it, but I wanted to play it very cool and let them work it out, separate of me. I said, ‘Well, then offer it to him, and see what he thinks.’ And then (Deacon) said he wanted to – what a joy.”

Ryan and Witherspoon tied the knot in 1999 and parted ways in 2007. They are parents to their 25-year-old daughter named Ava Elizabeth Phillippe.

Ryan welcomed his second daughter, Kai, who is currently 13, together with his former partner Alexis Knapp, aged 35. Similarly, Witherspoon gave birth to her son Tennessee, who is presently 12 years old, alongside her ex-husband Jim Toth.

Gearhead enthusiasts can watch Motorheads online through Amazon Prime Video starting from Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
