was one of the Clone Wars’ most brutal fights and, worst of all, proved to be completely pointless in the end.
What Happened During the Battle of Mygeeto?

The Battle of Mygeeto was among the
the harshest battles during the Clone Wars
lasting far longer than most other conflicts throughout the three-year civil war.
Mygeeto is a world located within the Outer Rim regions; during the concluding phases of the Clone Wars, this area turned into one of the principal battlegrounds.
The planet came under the dominion of the InterGalactic Banking Clan, who were recognized allies of the Separatist Alliance. Early in the conflict, the Republic dispatched forces with the aim of liberating the world from Separatist dominance and utilizing it as an outpost to free additional star systems within the Outer Rim. However, Mygeeto’s urban zones offered numerous locations where combatants could seek shelter and fortify their positions, leading to a protracted struggle without resolution. This engagement continued for roughly three years, spanning much of the duration of the Clone Wars.
Due to the prolonged nature of the conflict, the Battle of Mygeeto does not refer to just one engagement. Instead, the term encompasses the broader Mygeeto campaign, which was made up of multiple smaller battles.
Four major engagements between the Republic and the Separatists.
In the course of the Third Battle of MygeETO, Jedi Master Depa BillABA and her apprentice, Caleb DUme, confronted Separatist troops commanded by General GRIEVOUS. The Republic triumphed, compelling Grievous to retreat. Following their departure from Mygeeto, a fourth conflict ensued, leading the Republic to dispatch additional reinforcements.

And the 21st Nova Corps was tasked with securing the system. Amidst the intense combat sweeping across Mygeeto’s urban landscapes, General Mundi and his troops were engaged in fierce battles over every square meter of the world. Some of the most brutal encounters occurred on expansive bridges where the Republic attempted to advance its soldiers into the heart of the cities but met heavy resistance from entrenched foes who mowed them down. Consequently, this led to an impasse, with both factions unable to gain significant ground and achieve victory.

Sith Lord Darth Sidious commanded clone troopers throughout the galaxy to
execute Order 66
This directive activated the inhibitor chips installed inside every clone’s skull since infancy, causing them to aim their blasters at their Jedi commanders. As Clone Commander Bacara carried out this instruction alongside General Mundi during an attack on a lengthy, slender span of bridge against Separatist troops, Mundi proceeded fearlessly, leading from the front just as he always did. It wasn’t until his clones halted mid-advance and redirected their firepower toward him that he realized something was terribly wrong. Despite managing to parry several shots, Mundi ultimately fell victim to their combined barrage, meeting his end much like countless other Jedi across the stars.

The surviving members of the 21st Nova Corps carried on the battle to liberate Mygeeto from Separatist dominance. Once the Mygeeto campaign concluded, Republic forces eradicated all lingering Separatist holdouts. The task became significantly simpler after the recently named Darth Vader defeated the Separatist leadership on Mustafar and supervised the disbandment of their droid army. Without any further resistance to hinder their advance,
the clone troopers claimed Mygeeto in the name of their newly formed Empire and its Emperor.
As such, the Battle of Mygeeto came to an end simultaneously with the conclusion of the Clone Wars. Countless lives had been lost in the assault, which remains one of the bloodiest campaigns in the galaxy’s history.
How Did the Battle of Mygeeto Affect the Clone Wars?
The Clone Wars’ Bloodiest Battle Was Also One of Its Most Pointless
After three years of fighting,
neither the Separatist Alliance
Neither did the Republic truly win the Battle of Mygeeto. Instead, the conflict abruptly ceased with the rise of a new authority: the Empire. Ultimately, all the struggle and sacrifice proved meaningless. The Empire claimed victory merely because the droid forces were deactivated. Furthermore, over the ensuing years, Mygeeto endured significantly greater hardships under Imperial rule than many other worlds.
The Imperial propaganda portrayed Mygeeto as an issue-ridden system because of persistent Separatist supporters, thus legitimizing the heightened military deployment on the planet. However, in truth, the Empire aimed to exploit Mygeeto’s resources to strengthen their forces.
The imperial troops excavated the planet’s crust extensively to extract precious metals, resources that were essential for constructing a armada of spaceships aimed at advancing the Emperor’s objectives.
The emergence of the Empire
led to the final collapse of Mygeeto, which was severely impacted during the Clone Wars, only to encounter an even more devastating outcome subsequently.
