“The Greatest” has begun filming in Toronto. The eight-part series aims to explore significant events in Ali’s life and career, both within and beyond the boxing ring, including aspects that haven’t received much public attention. It will delve into his personal roles such as those of a man, husband, father, brother, and son. Ben Watkins, known for directing “Cross,” will helm the first two episodes of this upcoming show.

Ali’s widow, Lonnie Ali, will serve as an executive producer along with Michael B. Jordan, who is presently basking in the glow of “Sinners'” triumph, expected to rake in more than $400 million globally. Jaalen Best has been cast as Ali, while Omari Hardwick and Dana Gourrier have secured roles as Cassius “Cash” Clay Sr., and his spouse Odessa “Bird” Clay—the parents of both Muhammad Ali and Rudy Clay.
