Riley Green
At the 2025 ACM Awards.
The track had previously claimed the prize for Visual Media of the Year, with Langley taking home the award for New Female Artist of the Year.
I’m still slightly out of breath,” Langley stated from the podium, “and I’ve felt this way ever since the song was released.
I was raised on traditional country music, which often includes a lot of storytelling. Artists like Conway Twitty, Johnny Lee, and David Alan Coe were influential,” she went on. “This particular song had a significant impact on my approach as a songwriter. It showed me the importance of not worrying too much and focusing instead on writing about things I truly enjoy and that resonate with me personally.
She subsequently handed the microphone to Green, who penned the second verse of the song.
I simply want to mention how awesome it is that a song featuring spoken verses has won an award,” he noted. “I’m incredibly proud of Ella and her representation of our home state of Alabama.
“I’m extremely delighted about her success, and I feel honored to have been involved in this song,” he mentioned additionally.

Langley was a relatively little-known up-and-comer when she and Green released “You Look Like You Love Me” in June 2024. Immediately, fans started gravitating toward the song’s classic country chops and call-and-response style vocals, comparing Langley and Green to iconic country male-female duets like
Loretta Lynn
and
Conway Twitty
and
Tammy Wynette
and
George Jones
.
The song was a breath of light-hearted fresh and air, and that — combined with some rumors that Langley and Green might be romantically involved — helped propel buzz surrounding the song, which ultimately gave Langley her first No. 1 on the country radio chart.
Producer Will Bundy acknowledges this ACM victory alongside Langley and Green, and it also includes recognition for the record labels that released it: Sawgod and Columbia Records.
