“It’s simply astonishing,” she went on. “Even though I consider myself quite modest, sometimes I think ‘damn, an Oscar is within reach.’ Yet they seem completely unimpressed by me.”

After Charlize completed shooting her recent action film, she reminisced, “Yesterday, I picked up my younger child from dance practice and as we were driving by, we saw the new Mission Impossible poster featuring Tom Cruise clinging to a yellow airplane. He looked incredibly cool.”

“And I was involved in this extremely detailed scene where we enlisted an outstanding helicopter pilot named Fred North. We planned to stage me battling against helicopters while actually grappling with one for real and holding onto a genuine chopper,” she went on.
Firing 99% of the scene from an actual helicopter which seemed intent on tossing me around like a toy. It took us about two weeks to capture this segment, and I thought, ‘Incredible, I just pulled that off; that’s truly remarkable.’
“And yesterday, my kid simply glanced at this poster of Tom Cruise and said, ‘It’s strange, he seems way more awesome than you looked when you were clinging to the helicopter.’”
“She simply said, ‘I clung to the helicopter, can’t I get some recognition?’” she joked.
Adoption
In 2012, Charlize took in her daughter Jackson through an adoption process from her homeland of South Africa. Adding another member to their family three years afterward, the star known for “Mad Max: Fury Road” welcomed August via adoption in 2015.

In 2018, regarding her choice to adopt, Charlize stated, “When I was in relationships, I consistently made sure my partners knew that adopting was how I envisioned forming our family eventually.” She added, “Adoption wasn’t an alternative plan; it has always been my top priority from the start.”
She openly discussed raising her two Black daughters. “I want them to understand their identity, and I want them to feel incredibly proud of who they are,” she stated.
I took a vow to instill confidence in them since the moment I welcomed them home. It’s crucial that they understand their roots and feel pride in their origins.
However, they must understand that the conditions they face will be different from those I encountered, which is undoubtedly unjust. Should I have the ability to address this disparity, I certainly will.
